During my chat with Andy Beal (1/17/2008) on The Bauer Pauer Hauer, we touched on SEO as a potential reputation management tool. This is another huge benefit of understanding and being able to apply organic search engine optimization. Take a listen in on the podcast below, and please share your thoughts and opinions with us. Andy was a great guest, and we had a lot of fun.
Ponder this–if you had something negative about you or your company appearing high within search engine results, a way to flush that negativity out would be to get additional pages to outrank the negative results and minimize their impact. So SEO can serve as a reputation management tool in addition to lead generation, awareness building, and an increase in revenue.
Many webmasters make the mistake of believing that submitting articles to e-zine websites or article directories for reprint will result in instant traffic. This isn’t necessarily the case as it takes time to build a presence in the e-zines just as much as anywhere else online. People are naturally suspicious of someone “new” so if you’re writing frequent articles, don’t be shocked to see increases in traffic down the road more so than immediately.
We’re going to continue to add free videos that can help you in your SEO efforts whether you ultimately purchase The SEO Bible or not. In this particular video produced by Travis Sago, the subject of instant backlinks are discussed. Enjoy!
